BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team defeated NCAA Division II University of Sioux Falls 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 24-26, 25-19) Saturday morning at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

The Bruins won their 11th consecutive match and improved to 15-4 while the Cougars dropped to 3-13.

Kali Schnacker, Maureen Wardian and Annie Benson each recorded double-digit kills to lead the Bellevue attack. Jordan Broady notched 40 assists to go along with eight digs.

Benson and Wardian combined for seven kills to lead the Bruin attack in the opening set. Bellevue capitalized seven USF attacking errors to take the first set, 25-16.

Caitlyn Rueth, Schnacker and Wardian each pounded three kills apiece in the second game to pace the Bruins that held USF to -.029 hitting.

After facing a four-point deficit in the third set, 13-9, the Bruins scored five of next six points to tie the game at 14-all. The two teams traded points back-and-forth before BU took a 24-20 lead, but the Cougars fought off three straight match points and took the third set, 26-24.

The Bruins hit .379 and tallied 15 kills en route to the 25-19 fourth set win. Benson notched six kills and Wardian added four to pace the Bruins that only trailed once in the game.

The Cougars were led by Emily Johnson who pounded a match-high 17 kills.

BU hit .178 and held USF to .147 hitting in the match.

The Bruins will return to conference action on Tuesday, Sept. 27 with a 7:00 p.m. match at York College.
