MCPHERSON, Kan. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team swept its doubleheader with Central Christian College winning 25-6, 25-5, 25-11 and 25-13, 25-4, 25-8 Thursday night at the Ed Pyle Sports Complex in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action. The Bruins have now won their last five matches in straight sets.

Bellevue improved to 9-4 on the season and 4-0 in the MCAC. Central Christian fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in league action.

The Bruins will head to Olathe, Kan. this Friday-Saturday, Sept. 16-17 to compete in the MidAmerica Nazarene Invitational. Bellevue will begin tournament play with a 4 p.m. match on Friday against the host school MidAmerica Nazarene.

Match 1

Courtney Hendricks tied a career-high with seven kills, on eight swings, to pace the Bruins in the opening match.

Jordan Broady dished out 29 assists and guided the Bruins to a season-high .484 hitting percentage. Broady also registered a career-high eight service aces.

BU held CCC to -.061 hitting and recorded three blocks.

The Bruins also set the school record for a three-set match with 23 service aces. The previous record was 20, set last season, also against CCC.

Match 2
In the nightcap, the Bruins never trailed in the match and hit for a season-high .500 hitting percentage. Sydney DeBoer and Caitlyn Rueth paced the BU attack with seven kills apiece. Twelve Bruins recorded kills in the win. 

Broady collected 13 assists, four digs, and three kills. Sophomore Andrea Johnson dished out a career-high 10 assists, to go along with four digs and a kill. 

The Bruins recorded 11 service aces in the match and held the Tigers to a -.111 hitting percentage.
