BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Eleven different Bruins recorded kills as the Bellevue University volleyball team won its third consecutive match in straight sets, defeating Southwestern Christian University 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-10) Friday night in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

With the win, BU improved to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in league play while SCU fell to 1-2 and 0-2 in the MCAC.

Caitlyn Rueth led BU with six kills, three digs, and two service aces. Sydney DeBoer, Courtney Hendricks, and Niki Gregory all collected five kills apiece for the Bruin offense.

Defensively, Mollie Gavin led Bellevue with 13 digs. Meghan Evans added 12 digs, four assists, and a pair of service aces. 

Jordan Broady directed the Bruin offense to a .353 hitting percentage while recording 31 assists, threes digs, two kills, and a service ace.

The Bruins hit .609 with 16 kills and took advantage of six Eagle attacking errors en route to a 25-8 opening set win. BU was led by Maureen Wardian who blasted four kills on six swings.

Bellevue never trailed in the final two sets in breezing to the three-game sweep. 

The Bruins travel to McPherson, Kan. on Thursday, Sept. 15 for a pair of conference matches against Central Christian College.
