BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Seventh-ranked Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) College edge No. 16 Bellevue University in the final match of the Bruin Labor Day Classic, scoring a 3-1 (28-26, 21-25, 25-18, 25-22) win over BU in the final match of the tournament.

The Warriors (6-2) were led by Kelli Tikker with 20 kills and Lauren Herrick with 18 kills on .531 hitting. 

Bellevue, which fell to 4-4 on the season, was paced by freshman Sunny Bell with 15 kills. Annie Benson and Kali Schnacker chipped in 12 kills apiece.

The BU defense was garnered 16 kills from sophomore Meghan Evans and 13 by freshman Niki Gregory.

Junior setter Jordan Broady directed the BU offense to a .213 attack percentage while dishing out 44 assists, to go along with four kills, three digs, and two blocks. 

The first set was tight throughout, featuring 21 ties and neither team leading by more than two points. LCSC was able to close out the set with a kill from Tikker and a block by Tikker and Herrick on Schnacker. 

A pair of five-point runs keyed the BU attack in the second set with Schnacker leading the way with six kills in nine swings with only one error. 

The Warriors closed the third set on a 14-7 run to take a 2-1 advantage in the match,. 

After LCSC raced out to a quick 5-1 lead in the fourth set, the Bruins use a five-point spurt to surge ahead 9-7. The two teams traded points the remainder of the game until the Warriors took the match by scoring the final four points, following a kill by Herrick, two BU attack errors, and a block by Herrick and Tanja Luedin. 

The Bruins return to action next week when they travel to Orange City, Iowa to play No. 15 Northwestern (Iowa) College on Wednesday, Sept. 7. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Bultman Center.
