Gregory selected as student commencement speaker
Bruin volleyball standout Katy Gregory has been selected as the student commencement speaker for Bellevue University's spring commencement ceremony on June 4, 2011 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium at 9:30 a.m. The name of her commencement speech is “Simplicity.”

The school's all-time digs leader, Gregory will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She was nominated by the College of Arts and Sciences' faculty and was then chosen by a vote of the entire Bellevue University faculty.

"This is such a great honor," stated Gregory. "I am honored and blessed to represent my peers and so proud as a Bellevue University athlete to be chosen among all the amazing students at BU," added Gregory.

Gregory is a two-time Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete and MCAC Scholar-Athlete, as well as a three-time second team all-MCAC selection as a libero. She was also selected as Bellevue University's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the 2010-11 academic year.

Gregory helped lead the Bruins to four-straight MCAC regular season championships, three MCAC Tournament titles, and four-consecutive trips to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship.
