Bellevue hosts Friends in NAIA Opening Round
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team will host KCAC champion Friends University on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m. in the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round. The match will be played at Bellevue University's Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

The Bruins qualified for the NAIA Volleyball National Championship for the third-straight year and for the fourth time in school history. Bellevue owns a 6-7 all-time record in the tournament.

The winner of the Bellevue-Friends match will advance to the 24-team NAIA Volleyball National Championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa on Dec. 1-5 at the Tyson Event Center/Gateway Arena.

The Bruins (28-7) won the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season with a perfect 14-0 mark. Bellevue was upset in the the MCAC Tournament title match by College of the Ozarks, who received the league's automatic berth.

Friends defeated Bethel (Kan.) on Saturday  in five sets to claim the KCAC Tournament title and the league's automatic berth into the NAIA Volleyball National Championship. It will be the Falcons' second-ever appearance in the tournament.
