BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Seniors Rachel Muller and Lace Puffer combined for 23 kills on .528 hitting to lead the 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-8) sweep over Oklahoma Wesleyan in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
The Bruins finished the regular season with a 27-6 overall record and a perfect 14-0 conference ledger. It marked the second-straight season that Bellevue has gone undefeated in league play. BU has now won 13-straight matches and 29-consecutive regular season conference matches.
Muller recorded 13 kills on .500 hitting, while adding nine digs and two service aces. Puffer blasted 10 kills, while hitting a career-high .571.
Middle blockers Maureen Wardian and Jaclyn Thorson registered four blocks apiece as the Bruins held an 8 to 4 advantage in total team blocks.
Freshman Jordan Broady and junior Kylie Davis shared setting duties, combining for 33 assists while directing the BU attack to a .427 hitting clip, the team's second-highest attack percentage of the season.
Defensively, Bellevue was led by junior Katy Gregory's 13 digs.
The Bruins, who won their third-straight MCAC regular-season title, will host the 2009 MCAC Tournament next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14, at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
