Wardian leads Bruins past Concordia

SEWARD, Neb. -- Sophomore Maureen Wardian pounded a match-high 14 kills on .308 hitting to lead 15th-ranked Bellevue University to a 3-1 (25-16, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21) victory over Concordia (Neb.) Wednesday in nonconference volleyball action.

Bellevue won its 10th-consecutive match while improving to 24-6 on the season. Concordia fell to 10-20 overall.

Wardian also added a match-high four solo blocks and three block assists in the victory. Sophomore Kali Schnacker was the only other Bruin in double figures with 10 kills.

Senior Rachel Muller registered eight kills and a match-high 16 digs and two service aces.

The Bruins hit a season-low .093 in the match and were plagued by 33 attacking errors. Concordia held a 15 to 11.5 advantage in total team blocks.

Bellevue will be idle until next Wednesday, Nov. 4, when they host conference rival College of St. Mary beginning at 7 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
