Bruins take a pair from Central Christian

McPHERSON, Kan. -- The 16th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team swept a pair of matches from Central Christian College Friday night (Oct. 16) in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action. The Bruins won the first match 25-10, 25-12, 25-8. Bellevue took the nightcap 25-7, 25-10, 25-17.

With the sweep, the Bruins improved to 20-6 overall and 8-0 in the MCAC. Bellevue has now won six-straight matches. The Bruins have also won 23-straight regular season conference matches dating back to the 2007 season.

In the first match, BU was led by senior Rachel Muller who blasted a match-high 15 kills. Freshman Jordan Broady dished out 28 assists and sophomore Maureen Wardian collected four total blocks.

Muller also led the Bruins in the second match with her team-leading 16th double-double, finishing with 13 kills and 10 digs in just two games of action. Junior Kylie Davis directed the BU offense with 36 assists. Wardian added four blocks and junior Katy Gregory led the defensive effort with a match-high 15 digs.

The Bruins will travel to Lawrence, Kan. on Saturday (Oct. 17) to take on Haskell Indian Nations beginning at 1 p.m.
