BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Sophomore Maureen Wardian pounded 13 kills on .423 hitting to lead the 15th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-22) sweep over MidAmerica Nazarene in Friday's final match of the Bruin Premier Classic.
The Bruins earned a split on the day after falling to No. 6 Northwestern in five games Friday afternoon. Bellevue is now 13-4 on the season. The Pioneers fell to 11-7 overall.
Junior Jaclyn Thorson added 11 kills and hit .421 while adding two blocks. Sophomore Kali Schnacker was the third Bruin in double figures with 10 kills.
Freshman setter Jordan Broady directed the BU offense to a .336 hitting percentage , dishing out 37 assists, while contributing with seven digs and two kills.
Defensively, the Bruins were led by Katy Gregory's 11 digs.
Bellevue returns to action Saturday with matches against No. 23 Dordt at 3:45 p.m. and No. 5 Georgetown at 8:15 p.m.
