Siedlik signs Koberman for 2009

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bruin head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-9 defensive specialist/outside hitter Andrea Koberman (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University starting this fall.

Koberman is the daughter of Brenda and Gary Koberman.

"Andrea was recommended to us by her club coach, Linda Jensen from Club Midwest," said Siedlik. "She has patience on the court that I have only seen a few times with recruits. Andrea made plays that took thought and precise movements defensively that were impressive."

Koberman helped lead Ursuline to a district title in 2007 and was a two-time academic all-state selection.

"Andrea fit our chemistry and philosophy, which made it a great fit. We are super excited to have her join us," added Siedlik.

An excellent student, Koberman was named to the Who's Who Among American High School Students and to the Ursuline Honor Roll from 2006-08.

The 2008 Bruins captured the MCAC regular season and tournament titles, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament where they finished in the top 12. Bellevue ended the year with a 32-6 overall record, a 14-0 league mark and a No. 4 final national ranking. The Bruins set a school record during the season with 20-consecutive victories.
