Clow, Hooi named Athletes of the Year

Senior volleyball All-American Candace Clow and senior men’s soccer all-conference selection Adam Hooi were named the 2008-09 Bellevue University Athletes of the Year at BU’s year-end banquet which celebrated all of the department’s accomplishments during the past year.

Clow (Debois, Neb.) earned first team AVCA All-American honors while leading the Bruins to a 32-6 record and a No. 4 final national ranking.

The 2008 MCAC Player of the Year, Clow led Bellevue to an undefeated (14-0) MCAC regular season and to the conference tournament title as well.

Clow finished her career as the school’s all-time career assist leader, finishing with 6,147.

A midfielder from Omaha, Hooi recorded six goals and two assists for 14 points on the season.

He helped lead the Bruins to both the conference regular season and tournament titles in 2008 as Bellevue finished with a 14-4-1 overall record and a 4-0 league mark, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament.   

Bellevue finished the men’s soccer season ranked No. 6 in the final national ranking.
