Nelson highlights BU's performances on Day 1 of NSAA Meet

VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- Madison Nelson captured her third NSAA championship of the year crossing the line first in the women's 10,000-meter run at the 2022 North Star Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships being hosted by Valley City State University. She set a new meet record in the process, finishing in 39:26.38. She previously won titles in cross country and the indoor 3,000-meter run.

The Bruin women's 4 x 800-meter relay team completed the team scoring for the day taking home fourth place in a school-record 10:55.84. Team members were Caroline Feig, Alisiara Hobbs, Hannah Perkins, and Olivia Russo
 
The Bruin men contested just one event on Day one with Aaron Newton and Gabe Poppen finishing in 11th and 15th place respectively in the 400-meter dash. 
 
The meet continues tomorrow with Bruins contesting five events.
