Andy Nicolarsen completed his 14th season at the helm of the Bellevue University women's soccer program in 2017. He finished his first 14 years with an overall record of 182-71-17 (.706), including a 56-13-4 (.795) conference mark.

Nicolarsen, the winningest coach in program history and seven-time conference Coach of the Year, led the Bruins to the 2016 North Star Athletic Association regular season and tournament titles. Additionally, he guided the Bruins to the conference championship match for 12-straight seasons (2005-2016).

He currently ranks 11th among active NAIA coaches in terms of winning percentage (.706) and tied for 18th in total wins (182). 

Nicolarsen led BU to a 16-2-0 overall record in 2014 and a perfect 6-0-0 mark in MCAC play. He guided the Bruins to the MCAC regular season and tournament championships, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the fifth-straight season.

In 2013 he led the Bruins to a 10-8-3 overall record and a 4-2-0 conference mark while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth-straight season after winning the conference tournament in 2013.

The 2011 team ended the season with a 14-2-3 overall mark and finished the year with a No. 18 national rank, the best in program history.

Nicolarsen began his coaching career as an assistant women's soccer coach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2001-2003. At UNO, he assisted with practices, player selection and development, defense and goalkeeper training. A successful NCAA Division II program, UNO made back to back Final Four appearances in 2002 and 2003.

A four-year varsity letterman at NCAA Division I Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, Nicolarsen graduated in 1999. Hartwick reached the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Division I National Tournament during Nicolarsen's freshman year in 1995 and earned top twenty national rankings his senior year. Nicolarsen received a degree in anthropology at Hartwick, earning honors in Lambda Alpha, the National Anthropological Society. After graduating from Hartwick, he went on to play professional USL DI soccer with the Hershey Wildcats in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from 1999 to 2000. While playing for Hershey the team finished the 1999 season as Atlantic Coastal champions, and reached the quarterfinals in the playoffs.

Nicolarsen has a master's degree in exercise science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an MBA from Bellevue University. He also holds an NSCAA Premier Coaching License.

He was born in Omaha but grew up in Prairie Village, Kan., where he graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School.

He and his wife reside in Omaha with their children.
