LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University senior Jenn Amaro (Mexico City, Mexico) has once again been selected as the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after her performance in BU's win over Iowa Wesleyan last week.
In Bellevue's lone game last week, Amaro amassed four saves in a 2-0 win over the Tigers to notch her fourth-straight shutout victory in goal. It was her ninth shutout of the season; she raised her save percentage to .900 while lowering her goals against average to 0.50 for the year.
The award is the second-straight for Amaro who has played every minute in goal for the Bruins this season as the team eyes a return trip to the NAIA National Tournament.
Bellevue (11-2-1) hosts another team receiving votes in the Coaches' Top 25 in (RV) St. Ambrose University (9-3-3) on Saturday, Oct. 29. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Papillion Landing.
