Amaro nets CAC Defensive Player of the Week Award

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University senior Jenn Amaro (Mexico City, Mexico) has been recognized by the Continent Athletic Conference as the CAC's Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Amaro totaled 14 saves in a pair of shutout wins over Iowa Wesleyan and Georgia Gwinnett last week. The wins also represented her sixth and seventh shutouts of the season.

In addition to being a season-high, her 12 saves against GGC marked a program record for most saves in a victory. Additionally, it was the third most ever by a Bruin in a single game.

Amaro, who has played every minute in goal for BU this season, has a 0.54 goals against average and an .894 save percentage on 66 shots on goal.

Bellevue (10-2-1 / 3-0-0 CAC) hosts Iowa Wesleyan at Papillion Landing on Saturday, Oct. 22 for a 5 p.m. kick-off.
