LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University sophomore Ximena Jauregui (Cancun, Mexico) collected her third Continental Athletic Conference weekly award on Monday, earning her second CAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
Jauregui continued her dominating two-way play for the Bruins in a 6-1 win over Stephens College last week. The wing-back scored a goal and assisted on two others while helping limit the Stars to just four shots on goal while she was in the game.
The award is the third time Jauregui has received weekly recognition from the CAC after previously being named Defensive Player fo the Week on Aug. 29 and Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6. She leads the Bruins with seven assists and 15 points while ranking second on the club with four goals. She has also served as a lynchpin for a defense which is yielding just 4.3 shots on goal per game and has posted a 0.57 goals against average to this point.
Bellevue (6-1-0) hosts Midland University (2-3-2) for a non-conference match at 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Papillion Landing.
