UNOH transfer Rota signs with Bruins

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Ketlyn Rota (Porto, Portugal) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.

The daughter Deivis and Lillian Rota, Ketlyn attended Colegio Joao Paulo II High School where she helped her team to win their conference.

Rota played her club soccer for Braga back in her homeland, captaining them on numerous occasions.

Last fall she helped guide UNOH to a second place finish in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and onto the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round.

Coach White on Rota:

"We are very excited that Ketlyn will be joining us this fall. We got to see her quality last fall and after talking and getting to know her character it was important that we had to bring her in with this up and coming group. We have a lot of competition within the midfield unit so it's going to be exciting how they all push each other moving forward."

Rota joins previously announced signees Shadine Rutherford (Kingston, Jamaica), Rendi Takara-Haraki (Mililani, Hawaii), Emma Madej (Omaha, Neb.) Jenn Amaro (Mexico City, Mexico), Ella Pelletier (Papillion, Neb.), Ximena Jauregui (Cancun, Mexico), Mireia Fernandez (Matadepera, Barcelona), and Claudia Gallegos (Quito, Ecuador) in the Bruins' 2022 recruiting class.

Bellevue wrapped up a successful 2021 campaign by returning to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2014. Despite an injury-riddled and trying season on the field, the Bruins won their semifinal at the CAC Tournament for the first time to secure a spot in the NAIA Opening Round.
