RSC Defensive Player of the Year Jauregui signs with BU

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Ximena Jauregui (Cancun, Mexico) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning this spring.

The daughter of Honey Concepcion Jauregui, Ximena attended Tecnologico de Monterrey Campus de Mexico High School. While there, she played soccer under the guidance of coach Jose Pacheco.

Jauregui transfers in from Ohio Valley University where she helped the Fighting Scots to the NAIA National Tournament in 2021.

During her time at OVU, Ximena earned numerous accolades. The River States Conference Defensive Player of the Year also earned a spot on the RSC First Team and was OVU's Champion of Character representative.

Coach White on Jauregui:

"We are very excited that Ximena is joining our program this spring. Her resume speaks for itself; she is a hard worker and a versatile footballer. Her mentality will push us to the next level and will compete for a spot within our defensive line."

Jauregui joins previously announced signees Shadine Rutherford (Kingston, Jamaica), Rendi Takara-Haraki (Mililani, Hawaii), Emma Madej (Omaha, Neb.) Jenn Amaro (Mexico City, Mexico), and Ella Pelletier (Papillion, Neb.) in the Bruins' 2022 recruiting class.

Bellevue wrapped up a successful 2021 campaign by returning to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2014. Despite an injury-riddled and trying season on the field, the Bruins won their semifinal at the CAC Tournament for the first time to secure a spot in the NAIA Opening Round.
