Millard South standout Madej signs with BU soccer

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Emma Madej (Omaha, Neb.) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.

The daughter of Amy Swartwood and Brad Madej, Emma comes to Bellevue University after playing her club soccer at Omaha United under the guidance of Jose Vargas

During her time with Vargas, she helped Omaha United to four state cup championships.

Madej attends Millard South high school where she captains her team under the direction of coach Shon Mosser. During the 2021 season, she was named to the Best XI in the State of Nebraska.

Coach White on Madej:

"We are very excited that Emma is joining our program next fall. She adds another attacking threat and will increase the competition within the squad. When Em met the team, we saw instantly that she fit right in. She has a great balance to her game that I love so we had to sign her."

Madej joins previously announced signees Shadine Rutherford (Kingston, Jamaica) and Rendi Takara-Haraki (Mililani, Hawaii) in the Bruins' 2022 recruiting class.

Bellevue wrapped up a successful 2021 campaign by returning to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2014. Despite an injury-riddled and trying season on the field, the Bruins won their semifinal at the CAC Tournament for the first time to secure a spot in the NAIA Opening Round.
