LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior Courtney Wallingford (Bellevue, Neb.) has been named the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Wallingford scored the game-winning goal with 1:39 left in the second overtime to snap BU's five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over (RV) Kansas Wesleyan.
On the season, Wallingford has two goals and a pair of assists for six points. Wallingford, a first team all-A.I.I. selection in 2019 receives the weekly honor for the first time in her career.
Bellevue (4-7-0) hosts #12 Columbia College on Tuesday, Oct. 5 for a 2:30 p.m. kick-off at Papillion Landing.
