BU lands Brazilian transfer from Iowa Central CC

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Bruna Cola Bielski (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Iowa Central CC/Vasco de Gama HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.

The daughter of Flaviana Cola and Volmir Jose Bielski, Bruna comes to Bellevue University after transferring in from Iowa Central Community College. Prior to college, she attended Vasco de Gama High School.

Bielski contributed four goals and 12 assists last season for the Tritons, earning first team all-region honors for her efforts. She was a second team all-region selection for ICCC in 2018.

Coach White on Cola Bielski:

"We are excited Bruna has committed to Bellevue. She shows great intelligence on the field and thrives off problem solving on the field in both parts of her game. It's great to bring in another player with experience that is going to raise our standards even more."

Cola Bielski joins earlier signees Emma Stock (Bellevue, Neb./Papillion-La Vista South HS), Sinai Bernal (Bennington, Neb./Elkhorn HS), Jaycee Billings (Papillion, Neb./Gross Catholic HS), Britney Nolte (Springfield, Neb./Platteview HS), Millie Hopkisson (Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England/Johnson County CC), Jenna Curtis (Plattsmouth, Neb./Conestoga HS), and Morgan McIlnay (Omaha, Neb./Millard North HS) in the Bruins' 2020 recruiting class.

Bellevue finished the 2019 season at 6-6-3 and qualified for the A.I.I. Tournament in Lawrenceville, Ga.
