Bruins down WPU in exhibition affair

OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- Carolina Rincon scored a first half goal to lift the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 1-0 exhibition victory over William Penn University on Saturday afternoon at Lacey Complex Stadium.

Records:

Bellevue: 1-0-0
William Penn: 0-0-0

Recap: Bellevue 1, William Penn 0 (exhibition)

Bellevue made just one change to their Starting XI from last Thursday's season-opener. Angela Miranda replaced Chloe Madigan in the midfield.

The Bruins recovered from a slow start to get on the front foot as they began to create chances in behind the William Penn defense.

Entering in the 20th minute, Carolina Rincon made an immediate impact off the bench. Emily Weyant played a through ball for Rincon who dribbled in from the left-hand side and slotted the ball away, far to the keeper's left.

The second half saw a hard-working and professional performance from BU. The Bruins managed the game to see out a 1-0 win.

Alanya Hannigan saw her first action in goal and numerous Bruins gained valuable game experience.
