Tilley to return to BU as assistant coach

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University women's soccer coach Tom White announced today that Amy Tilley will take the lead assistant coaching role for the Bruins ahead of the 2019 season.

She comes to the Bruins with 14 years of coaching experience, including serving two years as the Micro Director at Midwest Premier Academy.

She holds a number of coaching licenses and awards:

  • NSCAA National Diploma
  • USSF National Youth License
  • USSF 'D' License
  • USC Goalkeeping 1 & 2 Diploma
  • USC Foundation of Coaching
  • USC 4v4 Diploma
  • 2018 Nebraska State Soccer "Recreational Coach of the Year"
  • 2018 FSC Competitive Coach of the Year

Tilley played for the Bruins during the 1997 and 1998 seasons where she appeared in 32 games and scored six goals to help BU post a 26-12-1 record in her time on campus.

Coach White on Tilley:

"It is great to add a former Bruin to the coaching staff. Amy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will help us succeed here. I'm excited for us to build on the previous success this program has shown over the years."

Bellevue finished the 2018 season with a 10-5-0 overall record, marking BU's 15th-straight season with at least 10 victories, and qualified for the A.I.I. Tournament.

The Bruins open their 2019 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Morningside College. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. from Elmwood Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa.
