Nicolarsen announces addition of Neely for 2019

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Andy Nicolarsen announced today the second signee of the 2019 recruiting class. Alanis Neely (Council Bluffs, Iowa/ Thomas Jefferson HS) has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning next fall.

Neely is the daughter of Laurie Nelson and Jeremy Neely. She is currently a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School where she will earn her fourth varsity letter in soccer this coming spring. Alanis started and played in 53 games for the Yellow Jackets in her first three seasons with the team, posting 25 wins between her sophomore and junior seasons for Coach Mark Royer.

She plays club soccer for Council Bluffs Soccer Club where she is coached by Todd Newman.

Coach Nicolarsen on Alanis Neely

"Alanis is a solid player. She is physically strong and athletic with good technique. Her primary position is in the center of the midfield where she likes to win balls and build the play out. We will look for her to provide us with distribution out of the midfield and defensive play next fall."

Bellevue finished the 2018 season with a 10-5-0 overall record, marking BU's 15th-straight season with at least 10 victories, and qualified for the A.I.I. Tournament.
