BU Women's Soccer signs Ochoa Rojas to LOI

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University women's soccer coach Andy Nicolarsen announced today the signing of Daisy Ochoa Rojas (Omaha, Neb./Omaha South HS) to a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2018.

Ochoa Rojas comes to Bellevue from Omaha South HS where she competed for the Packers soccer team as a four-year varsity letter-winner. She compiled 39 goals and 21 assists during her career and earned All-State Honorable Mention for her efforts. She played club soccer for Viva under the direction of her coach and older brother, Arturo.

Coach Nicolarsen on Ochoa Rojas:

"I saw Daisy play four years ago as a freshman and was immediately impressed with her free flowing attacking style. She has a natural feel for the game with excellent technique. That combined with her athleticism makes her very dangerous going forward and someone that our opponents will need to respect. I am thrilled that she chose Bellevue."

Ochoa Rojas joins earlier signees in the 2018 class: Faith Smith (Madison Heights, Va./Liberty University), Sofia Colvin (Edmonds, Wash./Iowa Western CC), Saskia Pepel (Mossingen, Germany/Quenstendt-Gymnasium Mossingen), Maria Flores Tome (Malaga, Spain/Baker), Jacy Dundee (Omaha, Neb./Central HS), Alexis Tolliver (Springfield, Neb./Platteview HS), Nancy Neri (Omaha, Neb./Omaha South HS), Emily Weyant (Omaha, Neb./Hastings College), Austin Perez (Hollister, Calif./Cabrillo College), and Barbara Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela).

The Bruins finished the 2017 campaign with an 11-5-0 overall record and a 3-1-0 NSAA mark as they advanced to the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament semifinals.
