Jimmies escape with 1-0 win over Bruins

JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- In a defensive battle between two of the top teams in the North Star Athletic Association, the University of Jamestown escaped with a 1-0 victory over Bellevue University Saturday in NSAA action at Rollie Greeno Field. 

The Bruins fell to 9-4 on the season and 1-1 in the NSAA. UJ improved to 10-4-1 overall and 1-0 in league play. Jamestown received votes in the most recent NAIA top 25 poll. 

Nicole Morrison scored the game's only goal in the 32nd minute off an assist from Phoebe Edwards. 

Laurence Rodier suffered the loss, falling to 8-3 on the season. She gave up one goal, while recording four saves with 90 minutes in goal. 

Lauren Sayler collected the shutout, registering eight saves in the UJ win. 

The Bruins will host Presentation College at 1 p.m. next Saturday, Oct. 21 at Bellevue Soccer Club.
