Dar, Hernandez lead BU over Concordia, 4-1

SEWARD, Neb. -- Reyvin Hernandez and Maiwut Dar each scored a pair of goals as the Bellevue University women's soccer team handed Concordia (Neb.) University its first loss of the season in a 4-1 non-conference victory Wednesday night at Bulldog Stadium. 

The Bruins improved to 2-2 on the year with the win. Concordia fell to 3-1-1 overall. 

Dar added an assist for a season-high five points in the victory. 

CU struck first in 12th minute before the Bruins scored four unanswered points, doubling BU's combined goal total on the year. Lauren Martin gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at 11:51 on an assist by Victoria Cera. 

The Bruins' countered with an unassisted goal by Hernandez in the 37th minute, before taking the lead on a goal by Dar with just over 30 seconds remaining before the intermission.

Dar gave BU a 3-1 lead at 56:10, scoring on an assist by Laura Cook.

Hernandez scored four minutes later on an assist by Dar to make the final, 4-1.

Laurence Rodier (1-1) earned the win, recording a season-high nine saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.  

The Bruins will host Grand View University at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Bellevue Soccer Club.
