BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team, under head coach Andy Nicolarsen, announced today the signing of Emma Philipson (Omaha, Neb./Millard South HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Bellevue beginning in the fall.

Philipson is the daughter of Kristi and Fred Wilson and is currently a senior at Millard South High School. She is an honor roll student at Millard South and a four-year member of the varsity soccer team under Coach Jane Elam. Philipson earned Honorable Mention All-State accolades in 2015 and 2016 during her sophomore and junior seasons and helped lead her team to a state tournament appearance in 2016. She will finish out her senior year this spring. Philipson plays her club soccer for EGA White under Coach Brandon Palmer.

Coach Nicolarsen said of Philipson, "Emma is a solid defender with a great understanding of the game, sound technical ability, and athleticism. She competed at high levels in both club and high school soccer, experiencing success along the way. This has prepared her well for the next level. She will definitely be ready to make the jump into the college game."

This past season the Bruins posted a 12-5-1 overall record and a 3-1-0 mark in conference play en route to claiming both the North Star Regular-Season and Tournament Championships. BU closed the season on a high note, winning four-straight games and posting an 8-1-1 mark in their final 10 contests.
