BU sweeps women's soccer Player of the Week Awards

MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue swept the fourth edition of the North Star Athletic Association women's soccer Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. Senior Jordyn Seidel was selected as Offensive Players of the Week while junior Laurence Rodier was chosen as Defensive Player of the Week.

Seidel scored both goals, including the game-winner in the Bruins' 2-1 victory over Concordia last Wednesday. She was again very active on the wing against Morningside, making several dangerous runs into the box and delivering numerous quality crosses in BU's 1-0 victory. For the season, Seidel is now second on the team with three goals and also has one assist in starting all seven matches.

Rodier recorded 13 saves on the week and conceded just one goal to earn the victory in both of Bellevue's games last week. She made nine stops against Concordia in a 2-1 win and, against Morningside, Rodier stopped all four shots on goal en route to her first clean sheet of the season. Rodier has started all seven matches in goal for Bellevue and owns a 4-3-0 record with a 1.19 goals against average and 30 saves.

The award is the first of Seidel's career while Rodier won the award twice last year and once the year prior in the former MCAC.

Bellevue is 4-3-0 overall on the season and return to action tomorrow when they travel to Hastings College for a 7 p.m. match against the Broncos.
