Bruins announce addition of BCU transfer Hemiller

BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Bellevue University women's soccer team, under head coach Andy Nicolarsen, announced today the signing of Loren Hemiller (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Briar Cliff U./Thomas Jefferson HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue, beginning in the fall of 2016.

Hemiller is transferring to Bellevue from Briar Cliff University after completing her freshman year. She is a Council Bluffs native and graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School.

Hemiller was a four-year varsity letter-winner at Jefferson High and is the all-time assist leader for the school. For her efforts on the pitch she earned first team All-City and second team All-State recognition.

She played her club soccer for Toro and the Elite Girls Academy (EGA) under coaches Brad Silvey and Marcus Kelcher. While at Briar Cliff she saw action in every game, mainly off the bench, recording five goals which included three game-winners. She finished her year academically on the Dean's List at BCU.

Coach Nicolarsen on Loren Hemiller:

"We are thrilled to have Loren join us next fall. She had the benefit of excellent youth coaching growing up which prepared her well for the college game. She has speed, tactical awareness, and likes to distribute the ball. Loren is happy about being closer to home and that will help her to compete at her level of play. I am excited about her future as a Bruin."

Hemiller joins earlier signees Morgan Sheard (Papillion, Neb./Papillion La Vista HS), Maiwut Dar (Omaha, Neb./Midland U.), Rebecca Folda (Schuyler, Neb./Schuyler Central HS), Rylan Mahoney (Platteview HS), and Reyvin Hernandez (Omaha, Neb./Iowa Western CC).
