BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team, under head coach Andy Nicolarsen, has announced the signing of Maiwut Dar (Omaha, Neb./Omaha Central HS/Midland University) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue.

Dar played her freshman season at Midland where she saw action in 17 games while making nine starts. A 5-8 forward, she scored her first collegiate goal in a 2-1 loss to Baker on Aug. 29. She attended Omaha Central High School where she played soccer for coach Jose Vargas and played club soccer for Omaha Football Club.

Andy Nicolarsen on Maiwut Dar:

"Mai played some big minutes all over the pitch for Midland as a freshman. That speaks to her current quality and potential. She is tall, athletic, fast, and sound technically. She is also a tireless worker and the type of player that forces defenders to stay constantly aware because she opens the field quickly. I am thrilled that Mai decided to transfer and look forward to her training with us this spring."

Bellevue posted a 12-4-0 record this past season and finished the year receiving votes in the postseason NAIA Coaches' Poll while reaching the North Star Athletic Association Championship Game in their first year as a member.
