BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University women's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Laurence Rodier (Quebec, Canada) has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

In a pair of matches for the Bruins, Rodier stopped all eight shots she faced in net to record a pair of shutouts. Her strong play in goal netted the Bruins a pair of victories over (RV) Midland and No. 13 Hastings by final scores of 4-0 and 2-0, respectively.

Rodier has now stopped 19 of the 20 shots on goal that she has faced to improve her save percentage to an NAIA-best .950, among keepers that have faced at least 20 shots on goal. The pair of shutouts for Rodier were her third and fourth in a row as she now gone over 363 minutes since allowing a goal (Aug. 22 at #15 Grace [Ind.]). In that time Rodier has lowered her goals against average to 0.20 which ranks second nationally.

In addition to Rodier's good work in goal, the Bruins have posted five straight shutouts as a team and have won six straight overall.

The 16th-ranked Bruins (6-2-0) are off until Saturday, Oct. 3 when they host (RV) Viterbo at noon at Bellevue Soccer Club.
