Bruins sign JuCo transfer Perez

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer program, under six-time MCAC Coach of the Year Andy Nicolarsen, announced today the signing of Victoria Perez (Salinas, Calif.) to a letter of intent for the 2015 season. Perez becomes the sixth signee in the 2015 recruiting class, joining Micayla Ross (Cheyenne, Wyo.), Helen Schweiger (Freiburg, Germany), Whitney Pratt (Platteview, Neb.) Karina Alvarez (Salinas, Calif.) and Brianna Richards (Papillion, Neb.).

Perez is the daughter of Victor and Christina Perez and comes to the Bruins from Hartnell College out of Salinas, California. Originally from Hollister, Tori played four years of soccer and graduated from San Benito High School. After high school she began her collegiate career at Hartnell where she earned several accolades playing for the Panthers. During her freshman year she was the 2013 Coast Conference South Player of the Year and an NSCAA 2nd Team All West Region player.  Last season during her sophomore campaign, Hartnell had one of the best season in program history finishing 13-6-3 advancing to the Northern California playoffs. For her efforts on the field Tori was awarded NSCAA 1st Team All West Region and NSCAA 2nd team Junior College All American honors.

"Tori is a center half back with speed, technique, strength, excellent aerial prowess and a solid ability to position herself tactically. Her abilities on the field earned her the All American award but the experience and leadership that goes along with that kind of recognition is what truly makes her a great addition to the 2015 team. Tori is a great player and teammate"

Tori will join current Hartnell teammate and conference player of the year Karina Alvarez next fall with her commitment to the Bruins.

Bellevue finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 16-2-0, including a perfect 6-0-0 mark in MCAC play on their way to claiming both the MCAC regular season and tournament championships.

The team advanced to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round for the fifth straight season.
