Pratt signs on with Bellevue women’s soccer

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer program, under six-time MCAC Coach of the Year Andy Nicolarsen, announced today the signing of Whitney Pratt to a letter of intent for the 2015 season. Pratt becomes the third signee in the 2015 recruiting class, joining Karina Alvarez (Salinas, Calif.) and Brianna Richards (Papillion, Neb.).

Whitney is the daughter of Robert and Kathleen Pratt and currently a senior at Platteview High School. While playing at Platteview under current assistant coach Amber Richardson Whitney scored 36 goals and assisted on 21 more her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons with her senior season ahead this spring.

She also helped lead Platteview High School to a 2012 state tournament appearance. For her efforts she earned honorable mention all-state accolades nd a spot on the Class B All State team. Whitney also plays her club soccer for Gretna Prima Green under former BU women's soccer assistant coach Jose Vargas.

Pratt is a prized recruit in the eyes of Coach Nicolarsen, stating, "We have had our eye on Whitney since she was a freshman at Platteview and are happy that she ultimately decided to play and attend Bellevue. She is a very athletic and crafty winger that knows how to play the game. She has had great coaching over the last 4 years from coaches Richardson and Vargas and will definitely be ready for the transition to the college game."

Bellevue finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 16-2-0, including a perfect 6-0-0 mark in MCAC play on their way to claiming both the MCAC regular season and tournament championships.

The team advanced to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round for the fifth straight season.
