IRVINE, Calif. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team saw its season come to an end as Concordia (Calif.) University handed the Bruins a 4-0 setback Saturday afternoon at the Eagles Field in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round. 

Bellevue ends its season with a 16-2-0 record after making its fifth-straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. The 16 wins tie for the most in school history, matching the win total from BU's 2006 squad that finished 16-4-1.  The loss marked only the second shutout for the Bruins this season. 

Concordia, the tournament's No. 14 seed, will play No. 3 Cumberland (Tenn.) University on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. in Orange Beach, Ala. in the tournament's second round. Cumberland defeated the University of Rio Grande, 5-0, in another Opening Round matchup. 

The Eagles controlled the contest offensively, holding a 21-4 advantage in shots and an 11-3 margin in shots on goal. 

Breanna Lewis helped the Eagles grab a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute with a long looping shot from 40 yards out over BU goal keeper Laurence Rodier. Amanda Koman was credited with the assist. 

Concordia added its second goal at 40:14 with Arianna Vaughn's strike off her left foot to the lower right corner of the net off a pass from Koman. 

Megan Daniels put the Eagles up 3-0 at 51:50 with a shot to the lower left corner of the goal off a pass by Breana Ellis. 

The Eagles used a deep corner shot by Val Barrios that bounced off the top of the post into the goal to extend the lead to 4-0 in the 64th minute. 

Rodier (10-1) suffered her first defeat of the season despite recording a career-high seven saves in the loss. 

Jazmin Alvarez and Darby Clements combined for the Eagle shutout.
