BELLEVUE, Neb. - Bellevue University senior Mercy Darkoah (Sheffield, England) has been named MCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Bruins won their lone game last week by a count of 2-0 over the College of Saint Mary and are currently 10-1-0 on the season, including a perfect 2-0-0 mark in MCAC play.

Darkoah, a central midfielder, directed a very solid Bellevue attack on Wednesday evening in a 2-0 MCAC victory over the College of Saint Mary. Darkoah helped create numerous changes for the BU offense which out-shot the Flames by a count of 14-7. She also scored her conference-leading 12th goal of the season with 4:26 to play to seal Bellevue's fifth consecutive victory.

For the game CSM was only able to manage two shots on goal as the Bruins shut out their second opponent in a row. BU has yet to allow a goal in conference play and has out-scored opponents 13-0 in two conference matches.

The Bruins return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 18 when they host preseason MCAC favorite Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 1:00 p.m. at Tranquility Park in Omaha, Neb.
