BELLEVUE, Neb. - Freshman Kristin Hanson (Bellevue, Neb.) has been named MCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference. It is the first such honor of Hanson's career.

Hanson was instrumental in helping Bellevue to stay unbeaten at home (7-0-0) on the year as the Bruins posted a 2-0 week with victories over Morningside University and the University of Jamestown. The right center back anchored a defense that allowed just six shots combined between the two games, with only four making their way on net.

After seeing their five-game winning streak snapped on Sept. 18, Bellevue has responded by winning three straight and are now 8-1-0 on the year.

The women's soccer team will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 1 when they travel to McPherson, Kan. to take on Central Christian University in the MCAC-opener for both schools.
