The Bruin women's soccer program under head coach Andy Nicolarsen announced today the signing of Bailey Petzoldt (Hastings, Neb./Hastings HS) to a letter of intent to compete for Bellevue University beginning this coming fall.
Petzoldt is the daughter of Crystal and Terry Pedtzoldt and sister to Ashley. She is a three-sport athlete and a senior at Hastings High School where she earned all-state honorable mention honors last season.
Petzoldt has been the starting keeper for the past two seasons at HHS and helped lead her team to two Nebraska State Tournament appearances. She looks to break the career school shutout record this spring and posted a 0.86 goals against average for the Tigers last season. Petzoldt is also an honor roll student.
"We are thrilled about Bailey joining our program," said Nicolarsen. "She is an accomplished athlete and competitor with good height and strength. She is also a great teammate with a tireless work rate. Once she gets comfortable in the program, she will develop quickly into a very good college goal keeper."
Bellevue ended the 2013 season with a 10-8-3 overall record, winning the MCAC Tournament championship, while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth-straight season.
