Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Andy Nicolarsen announced today that Kristin Hanson of Bellevue West High School has signed a letter of intent to play for the Bruin women's soccer program next fall.

Hanson played her club soccer for Toro, Elite Girls Academy (EGA) and Phoenix FC and was a member of the EGA 2012 state cup runner up team. She played her high school soccer under coach Gaut Schlerizin at Bellevue West and was a four-year varsity player. She earned all-state honorable mention honors for the Thunderbirds and is an honor roll student.

"Kristin is an accomplished player and an excellent defender," said Nicolarsen. "She is aggressive, skilled, smart tactically and a fierce competitor on the field. She is a great addition to the program and will step right in."

Kristin is the daughter of Randy and Darla Hanson.

"We are thrilled to have all four of the Bellevue West girls join our program," added Nicolarsen. "They are great players that have been coached very well and given a passion for the game by Gaut and Rick."

Bellevue West recruits Bellevue ended the 2013 season with a 10-8-3 overall record, winning the MCAC Tournament championship, while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth-straight season.
