Bellevue plays at No. 2 Northwood (Fla.) in NAIA Opening Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team will travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 23 to take on second-ranked Northwood (Fla.) University in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round.

The match will be played at the Arrigo-Vecellio Soccer Field at 1 p.m. CST.

The 15 winners of the National Championship Opening Round matches, as well as host Mobile, will advance to the 30th annual NAIA National Championship final site in Orange Beach, Ala. on Dec. 2-7 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

The Bruins qualified for the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship for the fourth-staight season while Northwood is making its eighth appearance.

Bellevue (10-7-3) defeated Oklahoma Wesleyan University 2-1 to claim the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament title on Nov. 15, to earn the league's automatic berth.

Northwood (13-1-2) won the Sun Conference regular season title for the fourth-straight season to earn an automatic bid into the 2013 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship field. The Seahawks have a 5-7-0 record in the National Tournament.

This is the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
