The Bruin women's soccer program, under head coach Andy Nicolarsen, is pleased to announce the signing of three players: Lauren Clark (Portsmouth, England/Mayfield HS), Tamara Webb (Whitchurch, England/Queen Mary's HS), and Alison Staub (Omaha, Neb./Platteview HS), to letters of intent to compete for the Bruins in the upcoming 2013 season.

Clark is the daughter of Luke Clark and Karen Newby and sister to Sam. She is in her final year of school at South Downs College in Portsmouth, England where she and her family reside.

Clark attended secondary school at Mayfield and was the team captain and awarded player of the year honors for three-straight years.

She played club soccer for AFC Portsmouth for her father where she was also voted player of the season for three-consecutive years. AFC Portsmouth won the league championship four times and finished runner-up twice. Lauren also represented Hampshire FA for two seasons and was a part of the 2012 South and West counties championship cup team and 2013 runner-up team.

Clark, a good student, plans to study health and human performance at Bellevue University.

"We are extremely pleased to have a player of Lauren's ability join the team next season," said Nicolarsen. "She has pace, solid technique, great distribution and is a true finisher in front of the goal. She is a great addition to the team."

Webb is the daughter of Karin and Leigh and resides in Whitchurch, England along with her three siblings Jazmine, Cerys and Laine.

For the last two years Webb has played a significant role at Queen Mary's College where she played under head coach Dave Bourne.

Webb played club soccer for Sarah Harper with the Portsmouth Ladies FC. She has also represented Hampshire FA U18's for the last three seasons and was a member of the 2012 South and West counties championship cup team and 2013 runner-up.

Tamara, also a good student, plans to study health and human performance while at Bellevue.

"Tamara is another great attacking player," said Nicolarsen. "She is physically strong and technically sound on ball and is an excellent target player that can strike with power and accuracy. We look forward to her joining us this fall."

Staub is an honor roll student at Platteview High School and daughter of Tim and Teri Staub and sister to Dan and Ryan.

A four-year letterwinner and senior captain, Staub played a significant role for the Platteview soccer program under head coach and assistant BU coach Amber Richardson.  Over the past two years she recorded 17 goals and 13 assists helping Platteview High School qualify for the State Tournament in 2010 and 2012.

Alison is another solid student joining the program and currently undecided on her major.

"We are excited to welcome Alison to the program," added Nicolarsen. "She is a player that we have watched for the past couple of years and expect her to only improve as she becomes accustom to the college game.  Alison is extremely fast and can carry pace over long distance which allows her to stretch the field. This coupled with good service and finishing will help her transition quickly to the next level."

The 2012 Bruins finished the season with a 13-4-1 overall record, winning the MCAC Tournament title and MCAC regular season crown with a 6-0-1 league record.  Bellevue advanced to the NAIA National Championship for the third-straight season.
