ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today that 492 women's soccer student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Michaela Gelecki and Stacey Hanson were among those select recipients.
Gelecki earned the honor for the second-straight season. She scored one goal while playing in all 18 contests, making 17 starts.
Hanson saw action in eight matches and recorded one shot on goal.
Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach or sports information director and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.

The Bruins finished the season with a 13-4-1 overall record and a 6-0-1 mark in the MCAC and captured the 2012 MCAC regular season and tournament titles, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the third-straight season.
