Bloom's goal sends Bruins to MCAC Championship match

OMAHA, Neb. -- Jenica Bloom's free kick goal proved to be the difference as the Bellevue University women's soccer team (12-3-1) advanced to MCAC Championship match with a 1-0 win against Central Baptist College (11-7-0) Saturday afternoon at Tranquility Park.

The Bruins advance and will host Oklahoma Wesleyan Univeristy in the MCAC Tournament Championship match next Saturday. The Eagles defeated College of Saint Mary 3-0 today in the other semifinal contest.

Bloom's team-leading 10th goal of the season came after CBC was called for a foul and the junior took the free kick from 22 yards out and deflected off the cross bar and found the back of the net in the 75th minute.

Caitlin Stier notched her fifth shutout of the season, recording two saves as she improved to 11-3-1 on the season. Becca Clements (9-7-0) took the loss for the Mustangs.
