Anderson earns MCAC Defensive Player of the Week

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University senior Morgan Anderson has been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 6.

Anderson, a native of Omaha, Neb., has anchored a Bruin defense that has allowed just one goal in their last eight matches, a stretch that included a MCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, Nov. 5. She scored a goal on a penalty kick in the MCAC championship match against Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

This marks the second straight week Anderson has earned the weekly conference honor.

The 25th-ranked Bruins finished the regular season with a 14-1-3 overall record.

With the conference tournament title, BU earned an automatic bid into the NAIA National Championship. Pairings and sites for the NAIA National Championship Opening Round will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 13.
