Bruins, Eagles tie, share MCAC regular season crown

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- The top two women's soccer teams in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference, Bellevue University and Oklahoma Wesleyan University, battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie, as both teams claimed a share of the MCAC regular season title Saturday afternoon. 

Bellevue moved to 5-0-1 in the MCAC and 12-1-3 overall, with the tie. The Eagles finished the regular season with an identical 5-0-1 league record and a 12-4-1 overall mark. 

The MCAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be held on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4-5 at either Bellevue or Oklahoma Wesleyan. The tournament host will be determined on Monday, Oct. 31.

The game marked Bellevue's sixth double overtime match of the season, with the last three ending in scoreless ties. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Caitlin Stier, who collected four saves, recorded her 10th shutout of the season while taking her record to 11-1-3 on the season. 

Bellevue's defense has not allowed a goal in the last six matches. 

The tournament site, game times and pairings for the MCAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be announced on Monday, Oct. 31.
