BU routs Mills, 17-0; Nicolarsen earns 100th win

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team defeated NCAA Division III Mills College 17-0 Monday afternoon. The win also marked Andy Nicolarsen's 100th victory as head coach.

Mercy Darkoah scored a school record six goals and added three assists while Jessica Damery netted four goals.

Other Bruins to score goals included Meredith Shuman who registered two while Rebecca Fairfax, Alyssa Porter and Amy Stigge each recorded one goal apiece.

The 17 goals is a school record. The previous high was 16, set on Oct. 20, 1997 when the Bruins shut out Dana College 16-0.

Bellevue recorded 37 shots in the match and limited Mills to just three shots and only one shot on goal.

The Bruins will host Bethany College on Friday, Sept. 23 with a 7:00 p.m. kick-off at Tranquility Park.
