ATHERTON, Calif. -- Jenica Bloom's goal in the 6th minute lifted the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win against Menlo College Friday afternoon at Wunderlich Field. The Bruins have now won all of their matches by one goal this season.
Bellevue improved to 5-0 while Menlo remains winless and dropped to 0-6 overall this season.
Bloom's goal came off a misplayed rebound from Jessica Damery's shot at the 5:45 mark in the first half.
The Bruins controlled the action the majority of the match and held a 16-4 edge in shots. The Oaks were held to just one shot on goal.
Bloom registered a match-high six shots, including four on frame. Paige Wischmann, Meredith Shuman and Damery each recorded two shots apiece.
The Bruins will continue action in the Menlo College Invitational tomorrow with a 3:30 p.m. CST match against Vanguard University.
