OMAHA, Neb. -- Amy Stigge's goal with 56 seconds remaining in the second overtime lifted the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a dramatic 1-0 win over 12th-ranked Hastings College Friday night at Tranquility Park.
Bellevue is now 3-0 on the season while Hastings, the defending national runner-up, fell to 1-2-1 overall.
The goal came off a free kick by Meredith Shuman that found Stigge who managed to find the back of net in a crowd inside the box.
The Broncos out-shot the Bruins, 13-5, including an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. Jessica Carlson led Hastings with a match-high seven shots. Jenica Bloom paced BU with two shots.
In goal, Caitlin Stier registered eight saves in the shut out win.
The Bruins will host MidAmerica Nazarene University on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 3:00 p.m.
