Bruins advance to title game with 2-0 win over Rocky Mountain

HELENA, Mont. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team advanced to the championship game of the Unaffiliated Group Tournament with a 2-0 shutout over Rocky Mountain College Thursday afternoon at Nelson Stadium. The Unaffiliated Group Tournament comprises the six best teams from the MCAC, Frontier Conference, and Dakota Athletic Conference.

The Bruins (15-4) will battle the host school, top-seeded Carroll College at 1 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 12). The winner will receive an automatic berth into the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament which begins on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Senior Erika Roberts scored off a pass from Krystyn Yancone with just 4:31 remaining in the first half to give the Bruins a 1-0 advantage at halftime. It was Roberts team-leading 10th goal of the season.

Freshman Jenica Bloom extended the lead to 2-0 with her sixth goal of the year  in the 53rd minute.

Freshman Ana Price recorded her seventh shutout of the season, while improving to 14-3 overall. She collected four saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.

Rocky Mountain held a 12-8 advantage in shots, but the Bruins had a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.
